First
regional property expo in Hong Kong a big success
The first-ever Tropical Asia-Pacific
Property Exhibition in Hong Kong in May 2006 overcame all doubts,
turning into an unqualified success as Hong Kong buyers turned up in
numbers. Feedback from the 38 exhibitors was almost universally
positive, with all but three or four of the total saying they would
return to a repeat exhibition in 2007 – and as a result a repeat show is
already booked for 19th – 20th May 2007 in the same venue, the
Renaissance Harbour View Hotel.
Developers from across the region attended – from Bali, Phuket, Samui,
Lombok, Queensland and Sri Lanka. Initial doubts about mixing these
countries in one venue evaporated as soon as Hong Kong’s potential
buyers and investors started to turn up in numbers.
The seminars proved popular, with the line-up of speakers including
lawyers and experts on property, investment and tax from several of the
countries represented.
Three exhibitors made on-the-spot sales, something that does not happen
often in these exhibitions. Generally contacts are made with qualified
prospective buyers who then visit the property on-site at a later date.
